Last winter, we braved wind, rain, sleet and snow to find some new exciting fashion brands for AW16 to complement our existing collection. We hunted and we gathered. We found Baum und Pferdgarten, one of the hottest Danish brands around and Wyse London, a scrumptious British cashmere brand the same age as we are!
For those of you who don’t yet know it, Baum und Pferdgarten is a stunning Danish Fashion House created in 1999 by two designer friends in Copenhagen. The brand does quirky, fabulous prints and tailoring using luxurious fabrics so that every piece is a statement of Scandinavian cool. Worn by Scandinavian Royalty, we know that you will love that the brand is different from the norm and beautifully made.
Their pieces are worn by Scandinavian Royalty and Fashionistas alike, and the Fashion Media in the UK are raving about the brand, ALOT! Grazia, Stylist Magazine and The Sunday Times Style team have all written about the brand in the past month or so!
Stand-out pieces for your wardrobes this season are:
The Carlina Knit is made of soft merino wool and is a lovely short jumper that sits to the top of the hip. It begs to be placed over one of our Rosemunde Wide Lace Tanks in a contrasting colour and worn with any of the Baum und Pferdgarten trousers that we’ve selected giving you an easy deliciously Danish look.
Now, drum roll please! We are soooooo excited to introduce a new cashmere brand, Wyse London, to our collection alongside our existing cashmere brand, Duffy NY.
A new British brand, Wyse London was created in 2014 by Marielle Wyse with stylish women in mind. Luxurious Cashmere is adorned with beautiful details such as star and sequinned elbow patches or unexpected pops of colour to enhance each piece. There has been lots of media interest (Vanity Fair as one example) in this new and emerging brand, so we are delighted to be working with Marielle in her quest to design beautiful and affordable cashmere – you are going to love it!
Our favourite favourite piece (and recently restocked in all the sizes!) is the Pomme Slouchy – a rich navy colour with rounded hems front and back and the cutest pops of apple colour at the elbows. Gorgeousness itself!
The Kenza in grey with neon pink stripes on the arms is what Wyse call ‘Super Slouchy’ so a relaxed fit like a sweatshirt, without being boxy or overly wide. This hem is straight with a small side split in the ribbing and it’s perfect for wearing under gilets to let those pretty stripes show through!
The fitted Ines Rainbow Breton is lusciously neat navy cashmere with a beautiful rainbow design all the way round the body. Teamed with a skinny jean, it will make you feel gorgeously slinky (or is that just us?!)
There are a couple more stunning styles with stars that will be online in the next day or so – watch this space!
Here’s to a fabulous autumn of British-designed cashmere and Danish tailoring.
