As the first in a new series, Style SOS, I will be helping customers with outfit ideas for specific events - from weddings to work interviews - and solving their styling hang ups when it comes to body shape and versatile, Scandi style dressing tips.
If you were to pop into my 'bricks and mortar' store, it is the service you would get from me, flicking through the rails together and picking out pieces that suit your style and needs while perhaps pushing you slightly out your comfort zone!
Scandi Styling is all about versatile, beautifully made pieces that have got that little design edge. It might be in the print, finishing details or the flattering cut.
This week I have picked out some overseas wedding destination outfits for a client attending a Southern Italian wedding - a 12-hour affair, in the heat, with 2 small children in tow...
Style SOS: I'm off to Amalfi in a couple of weeks for a family wedding and I can't find anything that is going to get me through 12 hours, in the heat with 2 small boys in tow. There will be a lot of travelling between church and venue, I'm going to have my hands full with the kids and it's going to be HOT - help!

That is a lot to contend with - a formal occasion, in the heat, with small children thrown into the mix! Here are some looks that will hopefully cover all bases.
Overseas wedding destination outfits
Firstly let's tackle the heat. I would suggest opting for natural fibres (the Scandi brands do them so well!) Silk will feel lightweight to wear and will stop you overheating. You can always layer a Rosemunde cardigan over the top if you get chilly in the evening (Laica cardigan, £135). This print silk dress from Vilagallo is perfect (and in the sale!
Katia dress, £129); the print will also hide a multiple of sins - from creases to sticky finger marks! While the tunic shape is great as it's easy to move in - and chase small people! Just add wedge espadrilles, which are great on grass or cobbled Italian streets and you're good to go.

If you don't want to wear a dress, the 'jumpsuit that's not a jumpsuit' outfit is great for a capsule holiday wardrobe. Wear the pieces together with heels and you've got a 'jumpsuit-esque' smart outfit for the big day (
Eliana cleo print trousers, £99, MbyM and
Juliet cleo print top, £69, MbyM); more practical than a one-piece (I'm thinking loo breaks!) then once the big day is over you can pair the trousers with a
simple lace cami from Rosemunde (£50), and the top is great tucked into a classic
black skirt like this one from Minimum DK (£50). Pack some simple black thong sandals and some black heels and you've got day and night covered. A corally orange lipstick would look great with a tan, and just add gold jewellery for a perfect summer look.

A few other pieces I recommend to wedding goers to finish an outfit are our beautiful Sence Copenhagen jewellery range - especially this aptly named
Celebration bracelet (£65) and Pranella's statement necklaces (pictured,
Trudie Pin necklace, £50). They can elevate a simple summer outfit to suit any special occasion.

Finally, if you've got two boys to wrangle, you'll definitely need your hands free! I always recommend a crossbody bag if you're attending events (with children or not!). People always automatically veer to clutches, but that immediately leaves you only one hand for drinks, greeting and eating! This beautiful metallic rose gold leather bag from Bell & Fox looks beautiful in the sunshine (£99).

I hope that helps!
