Clever Packing
At this time of year there’s always the issue of how to fit everything that you want/love/need for your holidays into your teeny tiny suitcases. We know how important it is to feel great on holiday so we’ve come up with some tips and advice on those pieces that will work that bit harder to earn their place in your suitcase this year.
Tips:
- Think about the actual journey itself. Whether you’re flying, driving, catching a train or a ferry, you’re likely to want to feel comfortable for the journey. Printed pull on trousers are an easy win because the print disguises the creases, they can be washed and dried when you get there and you can layer the top to create different looks.
- Choosing a colour palette that suits you really does work and then you can pack pieces within that and mix and match whilst you’re away. For example, choosing cool greys, whites and blues would give you a great base to add pops of colour in scarves or jewellery or shoes! You can create some great looks just by changing accessories.
- A lacy first layer should not be underestimated! Our Danish favourites, from Rosemunde come in a multitude of colours, they don’t crease and can be worn under other light tops if you’re off somewhere warm. Their slogan 'A luxury feeling everyday' is so apt because these little beauties are machine-washable, and dried flat, don't even need ironing! With a little care, these will last you season after season.
- Next you will need a throw over anything dress for the beach, bar & pool. Pick a block colour (whatever suits you from your chosen colour palette) and then change the accessories to suit the occasion.
- Tasselled necklaces work a treat for the beach and bar and we have a great selection from British brand, Pranella. These are made from semi-precious stones so they look great but won’t break the bank.
- City break? No problem. Our stunning jeans are the very thing. DL1961 Premium Denim’s fabric actually minimizes saggy knees, but whichever brand you choose, you cannot go wrong with a good pair of jeans. Add a t-shirt, a blazer style jacket and a soft scarf for a pop of colour and you’ll be ready for your break.
- Finally, underwear and swimwear aside, aim for around 15 pieces of clothing per week – 4 for the bottom half, 8 for the top half and 3 dresses or all-in-ones. You’ll be amazed at how many outfits you can create from that. Oh, and don’t go mad with footwear either…….!
