When it comes to the colder months, Scandi style is all about creating that versatile layered look in gorgeous, natural fibres. This autumn we have an edit of knitwear and accessories in the best cashmere to keep you warm and stylish this season. Modern classics Wyse London re-invented cashmere when they launched back in 2014. Taking classic crew-neck styles and adding a pop of colour to recreate a modern take on a timeless knit with their signature elbow patches and graphic motifs. Often copied, these jumpers are the real deal in quality and design; a wardrobe investment that feels fun and new every time we take it out the wardrobe. Smart enough for work over a fitted shirt, or at the weekend with denim for a luxe, off-duty look. Layer up Add an extra touch of luxury to your cashmere knitwear with our bestselling lace tanks and camisoles from Rosemunde. Their silk/cotton blend makes them breathable so you won’t overheat and oh so soft next to your skin. Their slightly longer length means you see a peep of lace below the hem of your jumper or cardi, giving a gorgeous contrast in colour and texture. For double cosiness, layer up with one of Rosemunde’s button-through, cashmere-mix cardigans in six colours. Navy and raspberry is our favourite combo for autumn with a pair of DL1961 Premium Denim dark wash jeans and our favourite Veja trainers. Cosy colour Whether it’s an early morning commute or stood on the touchline at weekend rugby practise – cashmere accessories are a great option as they are both super-efficient at keeping you cosy warm, yet also let your skin breathe. Accessories are also an easy way of updating a classic winter coat to add a pop of ‘on-trend’ colour. This season is all about the berry tones – Rosemunde’s raspberry cashmere-mix scarf is universally flattering on most skin tones and big enough to wrap you up against even the coldest of mornings. Or if you're looking for a neutral investment, you can't go wrong with classic grey marl. Clearance sale We are currently running a clearance sale on Duffy NY’s cashmere – from their block-colour monochrome ponchos to their simple, pastel cashmere sweaters. This modern, knitwear brand from the Big Apple is a luxury classic that won’t date and if looked after, will last for years. Our cashmere care top tips:
- Neglect is often the best thing for cashmere – don’t overwash. A good airing on a bright, dry day is often all your cashmere knits need.
- If you do wash your cashmere, do so by hand in lukewarm water with a specialist detergent. Try flat between two towels and away from direct heat. If needed, iron on a cool heat.
- Storage – hanging cashmere can stretch the fibres. Folding is best. When storing over summer, wrap in tissue paper in zip-lock bags. If you’re extreme in your cashmere care (like us!) – try freezing your cashmere (in zip-lock bags) for 48-hours before putting it away to ensure you kill any moth eggs.
- Pilling is not a sign of poor quality but happens to even the finest cashmere. Invest in a cashmere comb, lay your garment flat and pass the comb carefully over the surface to pick up any bobbles.
